Nationals Vs. Rockies Preview: Can Washington's Offense Do It Again On Wednesday?

Jordan Zimmermann is no doubt hoping that his teammates can repeat their offensive performance from Tuesday's win over the Colorado Rockies. The Washington Nationals right-hander owns a 2-6 record, despite a 2.89 ERA and a 1.12 WHIP, but his team is providing an average of 3 runs in support per nine innings.

On Tuesday night, Washington reached season highs for hits, 21, and runs in a 12-5 win in Denver. Zimmermann has not recorded a win since May 22, but if Tuesday's results represent an offensive awakening, that could change on Wednesday.

Washington will facean unknown commodity in Colorado starter Edwar Cabrera. Called up from Double-A on Tuesday to replace Alex White, Cabrera is making the first major league start of his career. The rookie left-hander is 8-4 with a 2.94 ERA in 15 minor league starts this season. Last year, he led the minors with 217 strikeouts.

The game starts at 8:40 p.m. Eastern. Fans can see the game on MASN 2. This is the third game in a four-game series against Colorado.
