Nationals Vs. Braves Final: Atlanta Defeats Nats, 7-5 Under Record Temperatures

On the hottest recorded day in Atlanta's history, the Braves were able to outlast the Washington Nationals on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 7-5.

Braving a record Atlanta temperature of 106 degrees, Stephen Strasburg had a short outing on the mound as he pitched just three innings and gave up five hits, four earned runs while walking five Braves batters and striking out just two.

Atlanta scored six combined runs in the bottom of the third and fourth innings to take a 6-2 lead over the Nationals. Washington would fight back bay scoring two runs in the top of the sixth inning and one more in the top of the seventh inning but it wouldn't be enough as the Braves emerged victorious.

The three-game series between these two teams will wrap up on Sunday.
