Earlier Saturday, the Washington Nationals collected just six hits in a 4-0 home loss to the Atlanta Baves. Through five innings of the team's second contest of the day, those hitting woes have carried over. Nonetheless, the Nats trail just, 2-1.

Starting pitcher John Lannan has, though, kept Washington close. The left-hander from Long Beach, N.Y. has given up just five hits and two runs through five innings of work. But the Nats' offense has struggled to keep pace with three hits and no extra base hits.

Atlanta's two runs came in the top of the first inning when a double from Chipper Jones knocked in Jason Heyward. Moments later, Jones would score on a single from first baseman Freddie Freeman.
