Nationals Vs. Brewers: Washington Looks To Batter Zack Greinke's Rotation Replacement

Stay connected for news and updates

Winners of seven of their last eight games, the Washington Nationals (60-40) take the field Sunday against the newest member of the Milwaukee Brewers (45-55) rotation, Mark Rogers.

With the trade of Zack Greinke earlier in the week, the 26 year old Rogers has been slotted into Greinke's rotation slot. Rogers has not pitched since 2010, when he amassed a 1.80 ERA over two starts and four relief appearances.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, and the opposing mound, with be Washington's left ace Gio Gonzlez (13-5, 3.13 ERA). Gonzalez is 7-1 in his last eight road starts, holding opponents to a .186 average. Oddly enough, he has struggled during day games, sporting a 4.22 ERA over nine daytime appearances versus a 2.35 mark at night.
