Washington Nationals' third-base coach Bo Porter has reportedly interviewed for the Houston Astros managerial job. Porter, 40, will be one of at least 6-8 candidates that will interview for the position, which was left open after the Astros fired Brad Mills. Currently, Tony DeFrancesco is serving as the interim manager and is one of the listed candidates to take over for the team with the worst record in Major League Baseball (45-98).
Porter is in his second season as third base coach for the Nationals. Porter held the same position with the Arizona Diamondbacks (2010) and Florida Marlins ('07-09). Porter's only managing job was with the Jamestown Jammers, the low-A affiliate of the Marlins, in 2006.
