On Friday, Nationals starter Stephen Strasburg will make his last home start this season. He is expected to pitch in two more games, with his final appearance likely to occur next week in New York against the Mets.
The team will rest Strasburg for the remainder of the season and postseason. The young righty underwent Tommy John surgery roughly two years ago.
He has been spectacular this year for the first-place Nats, who currently hold the best team ERA in the National League (3.26).
Strasburg will take on a Marlins team that he has typically dominated. He had maintained a streak of 27 consecutive scoreless innings against Miami, before allow five earned runs to them on Aug. 27.
The Marlins, losers of six out of their last eight, will send the struggling Jacob Turner to the mound. The former first round pick has a 7.33 ERA in five starts this year. He was acquired from the Tigers in late July, and has made only two starts since arriving in Miami.
Friday's game will start at 7:05 ET and can be viewed on TV on MASN2.
