Washington Redskins Injuries: 'No Timetable' For LaRon Landry's Return To Lineup

LaRon Landry was having a breakout season all the way up until Week 10, when he was beat by DeSean Jackson on a deep route to kick off a Philadelphia Eagles blowout. After the game, Landry suffered an Achilles injury, and hasn't played since.

In his press conference today, Mike Shanahan didn't exactly sound optimistic that Landry would be able to play in the near future. Via Jason Reid of the Washington Post:

"I can't tell you for sure until he gets out of the boot," Coach Mike Shanahan said Monday at Redskins Park. "When that's gonna be, I'm not really sure.

"We're gonna look at him and evaluate him day-by-day. We'd like him back as soon as we could. But, obviously, they're not gonna take him outta that boot until they feel like the Achilles makes some strides."

Landry remains in a walking boot, and you have to wonder whether he will be shut down for the season with a free agent year coming and the team likely out of playoff contention. CSN Washington beat reporter Ryan O'Halloran apparently raised this possibility in an interview with ESPN 980 earlier Monday. More and more, this looks like the inevitable conclusion.
