Albert Haynesworth did not practice on Friday due to illness. With a full day to recover before Sunday's meeting with the Giants, most people might expect the big defensive lineman to be healthy enough to play. Not Mike Shanahan though. Haynesworth was included on the Redskins' list of inactive players today. This will be the fourth game that Haynesworth misses this season.
According to Chris Russell of ESPN980, Haynesworth's status comes as a bit of a surprise.
Haynesworth was limited in practice on Friday, which means very little. Saw him yesterday at hotel, he looked ok #redskins
The Redskins did receive some good news today though. Steve Smith, the Giants wide receiver who had been listed as questionable, is also on today's inactive list. He'll join New York's leading receiver Hakeem Nicks on the sideline.
The full list of inactive players is as follows:
Washington: Carlos Rogers, LaRon Landry, Andre Brown, Ryan Torain, Derrick Dockery, Jeremy Jarmon, Albert Haynesworth, and John Beck (third quarterback).
New York: Steve Smith, Will Blackmon, Shaun O’Hara, David Diehl, Shawn Andrews, Duke Calhoun, Hakeem Nicks, and Linval Joseph.
