Eagles Vs. Redskins Odds: Washington Not Favored Despite Eagles' Struggles

Despite their 1-4 start to the season, Las Vegas continues to treat the Philadelphia Eagles like one of the better teams in the NFC. I say that after seeing the opening line of their Week 6 matchup with the Washington Redskins at Fed Ex Field. The game opened as a 'pick 'em', which means that the Eagles are considered the superior team when you factor in the three points automatically given to the home team.

Maybe they are, maybe they aren't, but as Bill Parcells might say, 'you are what you are' and right now the Eagles are not a good football team. Philadelphia lost their Week 5 road contest against the Buffalo Bills, 31-24. At one point, the Eagles were down by as many as 21 points in the second half before storming back to make it a game in the fourth quarter. Michael Vick continues to both amaze and frustrate fans -- he became the all-time leading rusher for a quarterback and threw for 315 yards and two scores, but he also threw four more interceptions giving him seven on the season, one more than he threw all of last year.

There's also the fact that Washington will be coming off its bye week. The Redskins should be rested and well prepared after a week off, and Mike Shanahan has long since been one of the NFL's best coaches when he has two weeks to prepare for an opponent.

Keep an eye on this line throughout the week to see what side the public and sharp money is coming in on. And for all your Redskins and Eagles coverage, check out Hogs Haven and Bleeding Green Nation.
