Jason Avant reportedly called a players only meeting for his fellow Philadelphia Eagles teammates. The Eagles have gotten off to a very disappointing 1-4 start after being hyped prior to the season thanks to acquisitions like cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha. Avant called the players meeting to stress that the Eagles have the talent to work their way back from the disappointing start.
"Everybody was calm," Eagles linebacker Jamar Chaney told the Philadelphia Daily News. "You don't want to get heated right now; it ain't no time to panic. We know what we're capable of doing, and we're not going to panic. We've had a few bad games, four bad games, but at the end of the day, we don't think those four teams are better than us."
Avant wouldn't elaborate on the meeting when asked after practice, stating that it was players only stuff, but did make a point to say that the players supported their coaches. The Eagles are looking to right the ship against the Washington Redskins this weekend, who are currently alone in first place in the NFC East coming off of their bye week.
