Eagles Vs. Redskins: Ugly First Half, Skins Trail 20-3

The Washington Redskins have been outplayed in every facet of football through the first half against the Philapdelphia Eagles. The Redskins trail the Eagles 20-3 at half, and that deficit could be higher.

Redskins quarterback Rex Grossman is not giving his team a chance to win. A second quarter interception came on an under thrown deep pass attempt to Jabar Gaffney. Grossman has completed more passes to Eagle defenders, two, than he has to Redskin wide receivers. The only offensive player performing well for the Redskins is Fred Davis.

The Eagle offense has been impressive. Piling up 16 first downs and 250 yards, Eagle quarterback Michael Vick and running back LeSean McCoy have dictated the pace of the game. Vick showed dazzling speed and playmaking skills while McCoy gained yards up the middle and on the edges.

For the Redskin defense, a small bright spot would be limiting the Eagles to field goals instead of touchdowns. Twice the Eagles put together long drives and were held to chip shot field goals by the Washington defense.

On their last possession of the half, the Redskin offense showed signs of life. Grossman connected with Davis and gained some yards running the two-minute offense. Kicker Graham Gano connected for a 50-yard field goal to get the Redskins on the scoreboard.
