Santana Moss On Rex Grossman: 'You Can't Just Give Up On Him After One Game'

Stay connected for news and updates

Washington Redskins quarterback Rex Grossman had a rough Sunday afternoon in his team's 20-13 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. He completed just 9-of-22 passes; threw four interceptions; took two sacks; and was benched in favor of John Beck, who hadn't appeared in a regular-season game since 2007.

Yet Grossman has allies in the Redskins locker room. "You can't just give up on him after one game," said wide receiver Santana Moss of Grossman, according to Grant Paulsen of 106.7 The Fan. "It's one game."

Paulsen adds Moss, Jabar Gaffney, and Darrel Young "have publicly stated that they think Rex Grossman should keep his job."

Perhaps Moss is mistaken, as Grossman's troubles began long before Sunday's debacle against Philadelphia. This season, Grossman is tied for the NFL lead in interceptions (nine) and has the second-lowest passer rating (66.5) of any quarterback to make at least three starts.

But then again, that assessment may be unfair to Grossman. After all, he was Washington's "Top Performer" on Sunday, at least according to NFL Network.
