Stay connected for news and updates

Washington Redskins left tackle Trent Williams will miss 2-3 weeks with a high ankle sprain sustained in the Redskins' 20-13 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, coach Mike Shanahan announced in his Wednesday press conference. Via John Keim of the Washington Examiner.

Shanahan said trent williams could miss two to three weeks with his hi ankle sprain. #redskins

That timetable would put Williams' return at either the game at home against the San Francisco 49ers on November 6 or the game on the road at the Miami Dolphins on November 13.

It remains unclear how the Redskins will account for Williams' absence. They could move Jammal Brown to left tackle or elect to promote Willie Smith or Sean Locklear to protect John Beck's blind side. Either way, the loss of Williams is a big deal, especially when combined with the season-ending injury to guard Kory Lichtensteiger.
