Chris Cooley Injury Update: Washington Redskins' Tight End Says He'll Miss At Least A Month

Washington Redskins tight end Chris Cooley announced that he is likely going to miss at least a month due to a broken finger injury suffered in the Washington Redskins' 20-13 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Cooley, who had surgery on the finger on Wednesday, told "The Sports Junkies" on 106.7 The Fan that he would miss 4-6 weeks.

Cooley said he surgery was successful in repairing his index finger but the hardest part is being able to withstand contact on it, like catching a football, without experiencing pain.  However, Cooley’s timetable for return isn’t that long.

"You say it’s a broken bone.  So you say it’s four to six weeks."

Later, Cooley held court with reporters in the Redskins' locker room and said he expects the injury to sideline him for at least a month. We will see exactly when he is coming back, but either way, he is not going to be out for the rest of the season.
