Redskins Vs. Dolphins Final Score: Redskins Lose Fifth Game In A Row, Falling 20-9 To The Dolphins

The Washington Redskins extended their losing streak to five, as they fell to the Dolphins, 20-9. The loss puts the Redskins' record at 3-6 on the season.

The first half saw the Redskins and Dolphins mired in a game of offensive ineptitude, with both teams heading into the locker room with the Dolphins up 10-6. Despite numerous chances to score a touchdown, the Redskins offense, now led by Rex Grossman, could not capitalize.

The offense was given it's best chance of the first half when Kevin Barnes intercepted a Matt Moore pass and returned it inside the ten yard line of the Dolphins, setting up first and goal. But as usual, the Redskins offense found a way to squander the opportunity. A holding penalty on an apparent Ryan Torain touchdown run put the out of scoring range.

In the second half, the Redskins were given yet another opportunity when Ryan Kerrigan stripped Moore of the ball, which was recovered by the Redskins. From there, the offense was set up at the Miami 25-yard line. Despite getting inside the ten, they were not able to capitalize yet again. They settled for another Gano field goal, cutting the deficit for 10-9.

After the Dolphins made it 13-9, the critical mistake of the game came on the Redskins first possession of the fourth quarter. After a key completion to rookie wideout Leonard Hankerson to set up first-and-goal, Grossman threw a critical interception to linebacker Karlos Dansby. The pick led to the game's decisive score, an 18-yard run by Reggie Bush which put the game out of reach.

The hapless offense couldn't respond, and the Redskins sealed their first five game losing streak since 2001, when the team started off 0-5.
