Redskins Vs. Seahawks: Washington Ends Losing Streak With Fourth Quarter Comeback To Beat Seattle, 23-17

The Washington Redskins traveled to the Pacific Northwest and ended their six game losing streak on Sunday afternoon. It was was the Skins first win since October 2nd. Two huge touchdowns rallied the Skins from a ten point fourth quarter deficit. Roy Helu's 28 yard touchdown run was likely the run of the year for Washington, as he hurdled an oncoming Seahawk defender and bursted down the left side for a touchdown. Helu had a career high rushing day, gaining 108 yards on 23 carries, but his touchdown run should be his highlight of the year.

The Redskins would take the lead with six and half minutes remaining when Rex Grossman hit Anthony Armstrong for a 50 yard touchdown pass. After a solid performance last week against Dallas, Grossman had another productive day completing 26 of 35 attempts for 314 yards. In addition to the bomb to Armstrong, Grossman also connected with Fred Davis on a short two yard touchdown in the first quarter.

Up three, the Skins defense shut down the Seahawks on their final two possessions. Seattle turned it over on downs when both Brian Orakpo and Ryan Kerrigan closed on quarterback Tavaris Jackson for a fourth down sack. With the ball deep in Seattle territory, the Skins would run the clock down and settle for a Graham Gano field goal to extend their lead to six. Seattle's final desperation drive ended when DeAngelo Hall, last week's goat, intercepted a Jackson pass. It was his second pick of the season and sealed the 23-17 win for the Skins.
