Friday, the Washington Redskins held safety Oshiomogho Atogwe out of practice for the third straight day due to injuries to his knee and toe, reports Ryan O'Halloran. Atogwe's absence Friday calls into question his ability to play Sunday when Washington hosts the San Francisco 49ers and their high-powered offense. Coach Mike Shanahan said he would list Atogwe as questionable on the team's injury report.
Williams, if healthy, could help plug holes in the Redskins' offensive line. Opponents have sacked John Beck 13 times in the last two games, both of which Williams missed.
Davis stands as Washington's leading receiver, with 36 catches for 517 yards on the season. If he cannot play, third-stringer Logan Paulsen would get the start, as backup tight end Chris Cooley is out for the season. Paulsen has two catches for 48 yards in 2011.
Safety Reed Doughy, linebacker London Fletcher, linebacker Rocky McIntosh, Paulsen, and fullback Mike Sellers practiced in full Friday. Cornerback Phillip Buchanon, who has yet to play in 2011, was limited.
