Roy Helu Fantasy Projection: If Washington RB Plays, Expect Solid Numbers Against Vikings Defense

Stay connected for news and updates

Washington Redskins running back Roy Helu has been limited this week in practice because of a sore toe and ankle, but he is still expected to play Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings at FedEx Field. And if Helu plays, he will score fantasy points against a weak Vikings defense.

Though Evan Royster will likely take some touches away from Helu, the Redskins rookie from Nebraska will still have plenty of opportunities to amass points. Helu leads the NFL in carries over the past four weeks, running the ball 96 times, and he also has tallied 16 receptions in that span. Helu has 505 yards from scrimmage since Week 12, good for sixth-best in the league.

The fantasy football projection site numberFire ranks Helu as the 16th best option at running back this weekend. The Washington RB's projected stats: 17.40 car, 56.81 yds, 3.29 rec for 28.89 yds, 0.61 TDs for 12.21 points.

For the season, Helu has rushed 147 times for 635 yards and two touchdowns. He has also caught 47 passes out of the backfield for 331 yards.
