Adrian Peterson Injury: Minnesota Vikings' RB Suffers Serious Knee Injury Vs. Redskins

Stay connected for news and updates

Minnestoa Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has left the game against the Washington Redskins with a serious knee injury. Peterson was trying to make a run, and his left knee bent in a way a body part should not bent as he was being tackled by Redskins safety DeJon Gomes.

Peterson stayed on the ground for several minutes before eventually limping off without putting any weight on his left leg. Several Redskins players offered him words of support as he left the field, a sure sign that Peterson's injury is serious. Peterson had missed time this year with an ankle injury, but this is something separate.

Toby Gerhart will replace Peterson at running back for the Vikings for the time being.
