It's been an ugly third quarter in Landover in this game between the New York Jets and Washington Redskins. The Jets tacked on a 51-yard field goal by Nick Folk to tie the score at 13, but that was the only scoring in a third quarter dominated by mistakes.
The Redskins caught a major break later in the quarter. Running back Roy Helu fumbled at the team's own 29-yard line, and the Jets recovered. However, Folk couldn't put the Jets ahead, hooking a 40-yard field goal wide. The score remains tied at 13.
Both offenses were poor in the third quarter, though the Jets did a slightly better job of moving the ball. Neither Rex Grossman or Mark Sanchez have been impressive.
