The New England Patriots (9-3) visit the Washington Redskins (4-8) this Sunday, Dec. 11, at FedExField looking for their fifth consecutive victory. Understandably, they're heavily favored against Washington, which has dropped seven of its last eight games and will be without tight end Fred Davis and offensive tackle Trent Williams for the rest of the season due to failed drug tests. As Daniel Shiferaw of SB Nation DC notes, their suspension brings the number of lost offensive starters to six for the Redskins this season.
According to SB Nation partner OddsShark, most oddsmakers favor the Patriots by nine points, moving heavily from the initial line, which was seven points in New England's favor. The over-under has held steady at 48. OddsShark points out the Patriots are 1-5 against the spread in their last six games in which they were favored by more than nine points, which serves as "evidence [the Redskins] pull off the cover."
