NFL Free Agency Rumors: Redskins Sign Punter Sav Rocca, According To Report

The Washington Redskins have a new punter, agreeing to terms with former Philadelphia Eagles punter Sav Rocca according to Grant Paulsen of 106.7 The Fan. Rocca will become the ninth player since 1999 to hold the position as the Redskins' starting punter.

The 37-year old Rocca is coming off the best season of his career, garnering a 43.8 average in his punts for the Eagles last season. He will replace Josh Bidwell, who was injured last season, and Hunter Smith, who returned for a second go-around.

The move gives the Redskins stability at the position for the first time in a long while. Rocca has only been in the league for four years, and he is a punter, so the age thing isn't a huge concern.
