Jarvis Jenkins' injury is indeed serious enough to hold him out for the entire 2011 season. A source close to the Redskins' defensive tackle told ESPN 980's Chris Russell that Jenkins suffered a complete tear of his ACL in his right knee in the team's 34-31 preseason loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night.

Just confirmed w/ a source very close to @Jarvis99Jenkins, it is a complete tear of the ACL and he is out for the season. Surgery next week.less than a minute ago via TweetDeck Favorite Retweet Reply

Jenkins had previously announced he suffered a torn ACL, but did not specify whether it was a partial or a complete tear. The 2011 second-round pick had impressed in training camp and preseason, so the injury is especially cruel for Redskins fans and for Jenkins himself.
