It's official: the Washington Redskins will not try to solve their quarterback woes with Terrelle Pryor. The Ohio State product has been selected by the Oakland Raiders in the third round of the NFL Supplemental Draft on Monday, where he will join former Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell. The Raiders will now forfeit their third-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.
That the Redskins ultimately did not take Pryor is not a surprise. Prior to the draft, a report by Mike Jones of the Washington Post suggested that the Redskins were "unlikely" to select Pryor at any point, though NFL Network's Albert Breer did float the Redskins as a possibility.
The Redskins did attend Pryor's workout on Friday, prior to the Supplemental Draft, but so did 17 other teams, including many who were set at quarterback. As it turns out, the Redskins were simply doing their due diligence like everyone else was doing.

The 2011 NFL supplemental draft is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Monday, having been pushed back five days from its original date. The headline prospect is Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor, and the Washington Redskins were one of 17 teams to watch him work out on Friday. However, according to Mike Jones of the Washington Post, it is "unlikely" the Redskins will end up sacrificing a 2012 draft pick to select Pryor.
It seems rather unlikely that the Redskins would take a chance on Pryor because given their rebuilding efforts, they can't afford to use a draft pick and roster spot on a quarterback who is so raw.
The supplemental draft is a silent auction where teams go through seven rounds and have the opportunity to place a bid in for each of the six players eligible. If they win the bid, they forfeit whatever round pick they use in the following draft. In other words, if the Redskins take Pryor in the third round of the supplemental draft, they lose a third-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.

Terrelle Pryor finally conducted his individual workout scheduled long ago before the 2011 Supplemental Draft on Saturday. The workout, which was postponed as Pryor's eligibility for the draft was settled, featured Pryor showing his skills to a number of teams who could use a pick to take him. The Washington Redskins were reportedly among those teams.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Redskins were at the workout. One might think this is a sign of interest, but don't be fooled. Schefter listed 16 other teams that attended the workout. Those 16 teams are as follows:
In other words, over half the teams in the league were there, including ones that employ Tom Brady, Michael Vick, Drew Brees, Phillip Rivers, Tony Romo, Peyton Manning and Ben Roethlisberger. It's probably not worth reading too much into the Redskins' presence at the workout.

Terrelle Pryor's Friday workout prior to the August 17 NFL Supplemental Draft has been postponed until Pryor's eligibility can be cleared up, according to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter. Pryor, the Ohio State quarterback who left the school following the tattoo investigation and Jim Tressel's resignation, was scheduled to work out in Pittsburgh on Friday. The Redskins were reportedly one of the teams who were scheduled to attend.
Pryor was not on the original list of players eligible for the silent auction draft. The list includes just two players at this time: Georgia running back Caleb Green and Northern Illinois safety Tracy Wilson. To be eligible for the draft, a player must demonstrate that his "status has changed" from the time of the April draft until now. Pryor's situation is obviously complicated, so it's still being determined whether his status changed.
The Redskins certainly are thin at the quarterback position, which explains why Pryor might appeal to them.

The Washington Redskins' reported interest in scouting Terrelle Pryor may take a hit, as Pryor has not yet been ruled eligible for the NFL Supplemental Draft, according to Jason La Canfora of NFL Network. La Canfora reports that NFL teams were sent a memo with the players eligible for the draft, and Pryor's name was not on that list.
However, he later clarified that the list is not final and Pryor could be added.
More on Pryor - he could still be ruled eligible at a later date but has not yet. The process is "rolling" according to the league, so NFL could make a final determination on him later, according to to a league source. He was not among the 2 players ruled eligible today, and the league is continuing to assess the situation as it may pertain to Pryor. So perhaps teams will get a later communication on him
The Redskins were reportedly one of many teams scheduled to attend Pryor's workout in Pittsburgh on Friday, but if Pryor is not ruled eligible to be in the supplemental draft, he cannot be signed as a free agent. It remains to be seen if the team changes its mind about attending the workout.
