NFL Power Rankings, Week 2: Washington Redskins Climb To No. 19 On ESPN

Stay connected for news and updates

The Washington Redskins fared better in ESPN's NFL power rankings than SB Nation's, climbing from No. 28 to No. 19 after defeating the New York Giants in Week 1. In the power rankings, ESPN's Ashley Fox writes that Week 1 proved the Redskins made the right quarterback pick (for now) in going with Rex Grossman.

Thing is, ranking the Redskins at No. 28 was too low to start the season anyway, which explains the nine-spot jump. Would this still happen if the Redskins were ranked higher to begin the year, as they should have been?

As for the other NFC East teams, the Philadelphia Eagles moved up one spot to No. 3, the Dallas Cowboys (for some reason) moved up one spot to No. 13 and the Giants fell two spots to No. 17. Does ESPN realize that the Cowboys lost in Week 1?
