LaRon Landry Injury: Redskins Safety Confirms He Will Likely Miss Season Opener Vs. Giants

Stay connected for news and updates

Washington Redskins safety LaRon Landry confirmed he will likely miss the Redskins' NFL Week 1 game against the New York Giants because of a hamstring injury. While he did add "as of now" to his proclamation, it would seem like a shock right now that he would actually play.

Here is his quote, via John Keim of the Washington Examiner:

"As of now, yeah it looks like I'm going to miss it," Landry said of the opener.

Landry was asked about a timetable beyond Sunday's game and said he was taking it "a day at a time." He added that the injury was a setback over the weekend that was revealed in an MRI on Monday.

Landry also apologized for a series of tweets in which he seemingly blamed the Redskins' medical staff for the setback, calling them "unprofessional." He deleted one of those tweets, but another remains on his feed.
