Pierre Garcon injury report: Receiver has 'minor tear,' likely to return after bye week, according to report

Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon's foot injury is reportedly a minor tear and while it can't get worse, it needs rest to heal. Garcon could be sidelined for two to three weeks, returning after the Redskins' bye week.

The foot injury that has kept Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon sidelined is a "minor tear" and he is expected to be out for two to three more weeks, via Grant Paulsen of 160.7 THE FAN in DC.

According to the report, Garcon's injury cannot get any worse by him playing on it, but it cannot heal without rest.

The right foot injury originally occurred in Week 1, on a long touchdown catch by Garcon. Since then he has tried to play in two other games, but has been hampered by pain and inflammation, keeping him from running at full speed and eventually keeping him out of the lineup. For the season, Garcon has eight catches for 152 yards and the one touchdown.

The Redskins have two more games, at the Pittsburgh Steelers and home against the Carolina Panthers, before a Week 10 bye. If the injury can heal properly with two to three weeks of rest, Garcon could be back on the field coming out of that bye week. Following the bye, Washington hosts the Philadelphia Eagles on Nov. 18.
