With their fifth straight win the Washington Redskins continue to rise in the SB Nation NFL power rankings, up to No. 8.

The Washington Redskins are one of the hottest teams in the NFL and as a result are rising up the SB Nation NFL power rankings. After defeating the Browns 38-21 without Robert Griffin III, the Redskins have won five straight and are up to No. 8 in the rankings from Joel Thorman.

8. Washington Redskins (LW: 10, 8-6): This is actually happening. The Redskins have arguably the best shot at a playoff spot among NFC East teams given the final two weeks of the schedule. RGIII in the playoffs? Yes, please.

The Redskins are the highest ranked NFC East team, ahead of the Giants (No. 11), Cowboys (No. 12), and Eagles (No. 30). All Washington needs to do is defeat the Eagles and Cowboys in the next two weeks to win the NFC East for the first time since 1999.

The Denver Broncos took over as the top ranked team overall, with the Falcons as the highest ranked NFC team at No. 2. Five NFC teams are ranked ahead of the Redskins: the Falcons (No. 2), 49ers (No. 3), Packers (No. 6), and Seahawks (No. 7).
