Stay connected for news and updates

While most of the Washington football media was out in Indianapolis this weekend to cover the NFL Scouting Combine, Redskins wide receiver Leonard Hankerson came out of nowhere by announcing on Twitter that he had undergone surgery to repair the torn labrum in his right hip.

Ok well the bad news is, I got surgery on Tuesday, and the good news is, I'll be ready 2 go b4 camp start

Hankerson had hoped that surgery would not be necessary and told a user who asked about his hip that he "jus wanted to be safe n b ready."

Hankerson tore the labrum in his hip while being tackled in the 20-9 loss to the Miami Dolphins on November 13. The rookie from Miami (FL) only appeared in four games in 2011 and started just two of them. He finished the season with just 13 catches for 163 yards.
