NFL Free Agency 2012: Redskins Expected To Purse RT Eric Winston, According To Report

Stay connected for news and updates

The Washington Redskins are expected to remain active in NFL free agency despite the NFL's cap penalties, and one area they are targeting to improve is the offensive line. The team is very interested in former Houston Texans right tackle Eric Winston, who was released in a cap-savings move earlier in the week, according to Mike Jones of the Washington Post.

The 28-year old Winston has started all 16 games for the Texans in each of the last five years. The Redskins' incumbent right tackle is Jammal Brown, but he fell off last year thanks to injuries and advanced age. The team is also likely to look for an upgrade at guard, with Kory Lichtensteiger a free agent.
