2012 NFL Free Agency: Former Bear Safety Brandon Meriweather Will Visit With Redskins

The Washington Redskins spent the majority of the first day of Free Agency adding to their wide receiver corps, but on Wednesday, they will look to add a player that could help on the other side of the ball. Former Patriot and Bear safety Brandon Meriweather will reportedly be in Washington on Wednesday meeting with the club.

Safety is suddenly one of the biggest needs on the roster after both starting safeties hit the open market this offseason. Meriweather was a very effective player for the Patriots but was released and joined the Bears, where he had a tough time seeing the field.
