2012 NFL Free Agency: London Fletcher Signs Five Year Contract That Can Void To Two

Stay connected for news and updates

The Washington Redskins checked one of the bigger items off their offseason wish list over the weekend when they re-signed inside linebacker and defensive leader London Fletcher to a contract extension. Until now we only had the word of London to go on, but now we have some more details about what the exact specifications of the contract are.

Now keep in mind that London Fletcher will be 37 in a couple of weeks, so the chances of him making it to year five of that contract are somewhere between slim and none. So I would expect the deal to be more in the two-year variety. But then again, who would count London Fletcher out of anything at this point in his career?

Stay tuned to SB Nation D.C. for more information on the 2012 NFL Free Agency period and on Fletcher's signing.
