2012 NFL Mock Draft: Peter King Predicts The Washington Redskins Will Select Robert Griffin III

Stay connected for news and updates

Add Peter King's name to the list of football writers that think that Baylor Bears quarterback Robert Griffin III going to the Washington Redskins is a lock. In his latest mock draft, King believes that this is not only the pick that will happen, but the pick that should happen for the Redskins.

This way to the backseat, Stephen Strasburg and Alex Ovechkin and John Wall, there's a new sports phenom in Washington. If the electrifying Griffin is even 85% the QB that Cam Newton was as a rookie last year-and he could well be-the Skins will be reborn, and the only person in the nation's capital getting more press will be Barack Obama.

It is a tad presumptuous to say that he will eclipse those other three players so soon. However, if he comes into the franchise and performs to his potential right away, he will be the talk of the town almost overnight.
