Washington Redskins Release John Beck, According To Report

Saturday has been an especially active day for the Washington Redskins football organization, particularly when it comes to the quarterback position. The team surprised fans and media alike by selecting Michigan State quarterback Kirk Cousins in the fourth round, and then an hour later introduced the quarterback of the future at FedEx Field, Baylor's Robert Griffin III. It now appears an incumbent Redskins passer's time has come. Via Chris Russell of 980 AM in Washington, D.C.:

If Cousins was drafted to serve as RGIII's backup, then either Beck or Rex Grossman had to go at some point, so this move should really not come as a surprise.
