Bengals Vs. Redskins Score Update: Washington Trails After First Quarter, 14-7

It was a mixed first quarter for the Washington Redskins' defense against the Cincinnati Bengals, as they were burned for two long touchdown passes. But they responded by scoring the Redskins' first points on an interception. The Redskins trailed the Bengals, 14-7, after one quarter of Washington's home-opener.

The Bengals jumped out to an early lead, scoring on the first play from scrimmage. Mohamed Sanu took the shotgun snap, faked a handoff and hit A.J. Green streaking down the middle for a 73-yard touchdown.

The Redskins evened things up on a defensive touchdown when pressure up the middle forced Andy Dalton to throw a wobbly, misguided swing pass right into the diving arms of Rob Jackson who landed in the end zone for the touchdown.

A bad sign for the defense came when cornerback Cedric Griffin had to come out of the game with an injured hamstring. His return is being called questionable.

The Bengals took a 14-7 lead on another long touchdown, 48 yards from Andy Dalton to Armon Binns.

Washington's offense gained just 43 yards in the first quarter.
