Bengals Vs. Redskins Blog Reaction: 'Our Worst Nightmares Came True'

The Washington Redskins were riding high after beating the New Orleans Saints two weeks ago, but a pair of losses later and the fanbase's optimism is tempered.

Redskins fans are obviously still excited about Robert Griffin III, who threw for 221 yards while leading the team in rushing, but the team's offense wasn't enough as the defense gave up 38 points to the Cincinnati Bengals. Redskins blog Hogs Haven had more negatives then positives to take away from the home opener.

Our worst nightmares came true during our home opener to the Cincinnati Bengals and their porous defense, but our Redskins were the ones left looking like a sieve after a 38-31 beating at the hands of Andy Dalton and A.J. Green.

The secondary allowed Dalton to throw for 328 yards and three touchdowns, and that's not including the 73-yard touchdown thrown by receiver Mohamed Sanu on a trick play for the Bengals' first touchdown.

For the third week in a row we allowed an opposing quarterback to carve up our secondary like a Thanksgiving turkey. So far on this young season, the Redskins defense has allowed 101 points, 955 passing yards and 10 passing touchdowns. This is not acceptable!

The Redskins might do better next week against Josh Freeman, who completed 10 of 28 passes and threw a pick this past weekend against Dallas.
