VIDEO: Robert Griffin III's First Career Touchdown Pass Is A Beauty

The RGIII era got off to a flying start Sunday at the Superdome, as prized rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III from Baylor led the Washington Redskins to scores on their first two drives and gave Washington a 10-7 lead through one quarter at New Orleans against the Saints Sunday. It's the NFL opener for both teams.

Griffin hit Pierre Garcon over the middle for 16 yards, then Garcon ran another 72 after the catch for Griffin's first career NFL TD pass.

Griffin was also effective on his opening drive, guiding the Redskins to a field goal and a 3-0 lead on their first possession. Griffin built a rapport with Garcon early, hitting him for three completion before Garcon left the game in with an apparent back injury.

Garcon left the sideline for a time and then returned during the first quarter, and looked just fine on the touchdown.

Griffin was 6 of 6 on the opening drive. Drew Brees capped the Saints' first drive with a touchdown pass to Jimmy Graham and a 7-3 lead.
