Wizards Vs. Bulls: Derrick Rose Outshines John Wall In Chicago Victory

Gilbert Arenas stole the show tonight for the Wizards in the game that was billed as the first meeting between star point guards John Wall and Derrick Rose. Arenas had 30 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists tonight, by far his best performance of the season.

Arenas remains a bench player for the Wizards, but you have to wonder how much longer that will last if he continues having performances like this.

The Wizards were competitive in this loss to an improved Bulls team. The bigger news though may have come midway through the third quarter when Yi Jianlian suffered an injury to his right knee and had to be removed from the game. Yi's injury occurred when he collided at Wall. Both players exited, but only one player returned.

Wall was overshadowed by Rose in the matchup between the two former No. 1 overall draft picks. Wall finished with 16 points, 6 assists, and 3 steals, but Roses' 24 point, 8 assist, 2 steal performance was the decisive element of this game.

The Wizards return home Tuesday night as the Toronto Raptors will be in Washington.

Wizards Vs. Bulls: Bulls Lead 50-42 At Halftime In Kirk Hinrich's Return To Chicago

This game was supposed to be about the two young hotshot point guards who were each selected No. 1 overall out of a school led by John Calipari. Derrick Rose and John Wall have each had quality games so far, but the story for the Wizards has been Gilbert Arenas. He leads all Wizards with nine points off the bench, but could do better than his current 4-11 shooting line.

As for the Wall-Rose matchup, the Wizards rookie has gotten the bettter of his opportunities so far. Wall is 4-8 with eight points, five assists, and three steals. Rose is 3-11 with nine points, three assists, and one steal. The highlight of the night though would probably be Wall's fast-break score at 2:16 in the second quarter.

Another storyline tonight is Kirk Hinrich's return to Chicago. The Bulls showed a tribute video to their fomer player, and Heinrich received a nice standing ovation from the crowd. He's returned the favor to them so far by going scoreless despite being second only to Wall in minutes played.

Wizards Vs. Bulls: John Wall Goes Against Derrick Rose For The First Time

When NBA fans took a look at the calendar this year, tonight's game was probably one they circled. For the first time in their NBA careers, John Wall and Derrick Rose will go against each other when the Washington Wizards take on the Chicago Bulls in Chicago tonight.

The two dynamic point guards are both having outstanding seasons, and they both have a lot on common. Both were number one picks in the NBA Draft, and both played for John Calipari in college. Now, they are both the faces of their franchises.

As of right now, the Bulls are further along than the Wizards. Chicago was a playoff team in each of the last two seasons, and they are off to a solid 4-3 start despite playing without Carlos Boozer. The Bulls are coming off a blowout win over the Golden State Warriors on Thursday. The Wizards, on the other hand, are 2-5, and are coming off a disappointing 93-85 loss to the Charlotte Bobcats on Friday night at home.

Tonight's game will begin at 8 p.m.
