Earlier last week, Wizards owner Ted Leonsis said he would do the Dougie if the Wizards managed to have a sellout this season (not counting the Miami, Boston or Lakers games). Because he's Ted Leonsis, and because it's the Dougie, a dance that, let's face it, men like Ted Leonsis do not often do, it became an Internet sensation.
↵Today, in an interview with WTOP, Leonsis was asked about his promise. He said that "nothing inspired me," and that it was merely a throwaway line in a blog post that "went viral." But let's be clear: Leonsis is too clever for something like that to be random. Maybe he wasn't "inspired" by anything, but he was trying to generate some buzz.
↵Case it point: he actually showed off a sneak peak of his "Dougie."
↵
Leonsis says he has the shoulder thing down, but needs to work on the hip movement. Personally, I say he should just do his own version of the "Dougie." Hips be dammed. If John Wall can create his own personal version of the dance, why can't Ted?
