Nick Young Is 'A Little Jealous' Of JaVale McGee Being In The Slam Dunk Contest

When Nick Young entered the league, he was a high-flyer that got up for several great in-game dunks. That isn't really the case anymore, as he's primarily a shooter that doesn't really get to the basket as much. But ever the entertainer, Young wishes he could still show the world his athleticism.

So when he heard that his teammate, JaVale McGee, was picked to be in the 2011 Slam Dunk Contest, Young couldn't help but be a little bit sad inside. Today, he admitted that he was "jealous" of McGee. Via Craig Stouffer of the Washington Examiner:

↵↵Young "a little hurt, little jealous" of McGee. "When he told me, I thought he was playing. Then I seen it, then I almost fainted."

Cheer up, Nick. You can still throw passes to your teammate (even if you don't get many assists in games) and help him take paper out of the net with his mouth. And if it's any consolation, your coach doesn't think winning the dunk contest would mean much for your teammate's career.

[Flip] Saunders [was] asked what dunk contest can do for McGee's confidence. "Nothing. Gerald Green won the dunk contest. Where is he at now?"
