VIDEO: Commemorating The Mike Bibby Era In D.C.

↵

Mike Bibby was technically a member of the Washington Wizards, but it didn't last very long. Bibby played in two games after being acquired from the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday, then finalized a buyout from the team where he sacrificed his entire 2011/12 salary in order to catch on with a contender. He wore No. 00 as a symbol of the amount of time he wanted to play here (not technically true, but roll with me here) and didn't even bother to get his headshot taken even though it would only take a few minutes (actually true).

It was an era most Wizards fans will soon forget. Thankfully, Comcast SportsNet's Chick Hernandez and Brent Harris made sure to put the Mike Bibby era in its proper place in Wizards history with this touching tribute. As the video clearly shows, Bibby had so much value to the team that will desperately be missed. Clearly, the Wizards laid an egg against the Bulls Monday night because they no longer had Bibby there.

Thanks to this, Bibby will go down in the annals of Wizards history, along with legends like Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Drew Gooden
