Wizards Vs. Pistons: Washington Loses 113-102 In Detroit

All things considered, the Washington Wizards shouldn't really have expected to win tonight. They only have one victory on the road all year, and their head coach Flip Saunders was at the funeral for his late mother.

John Wall had 24 points to lead all scorers, and also contributed five rebounds and seven assists in a losing effort for the Wizards as they fell 113-102 to the Detroit Pistons. Andray Blatche and Nick Young each turned in 21 points, but didn't receive enough auxiliary scoring or defensive effort to stop the home team.

Tayshaun Prince returned to the lineup for the Pistons after missing four straight games and scored 20 points and collected six rebounds to lead his team to victory. Rodney Stuckey had 19 points and nine assists. Charlie Villanueva had 16 points, while Greg Monroe and Austin Day each chipped in 12 points.

The Wizards will now return home for a three-game stretch that will begin Tuesday night against the Milwaukee Bucks, before hosting Blake Griffin and the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday night, and Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder next Monday.

Wizards Vs. Pistons: Washington Looks For Second Straight Win

The Washington Wizards ended a seven-game losing streak last night against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Tonight, they are looking to start a new streak. This time, they'd like it to be a positive one.

Things aren't going quite as well as they'd hoped tonight though. The Detroit Pistons lead the Wizards 60-51 at halftime as the Wizards are going for just their second road win of the year.

The Pistons have had little trouble with the Washington defense in the first half. They are shooting 50% from the field, while the Wizards are under 40%, and have 18 assists to Washington's eight, six of which have been earned by John Wall. The rookie point guard also has 15 points. The Pistons are also leading the Wizards in rebounds, 25-18

Charlie Villanueva is leading all scorers with 16 points in 11 minutes off the bench. Rodney Stuckey has 11 points, six rebounds, and five assists for the Pistons, and seems to be on his way towards a double-double.

The Wizards have won only one game on the road all season, and its looking less and less likely that they'll get their second tonight. They've got 24 minutes left to do it.
