NBA Draft Lottery 2011 Odds: Washington Wizards Have 38 Percent Chance At Top-Three Pick

Stay connected for news and updates

The 2011 NBA Draft Lottery will take place on Tuesday night at 8:30 p.m. on ESPN, and the Washington Wizards find themselves back in a similar spot as last season, when they won the lottery and selected John Wall No. 1 overall. In fact, the Wizards have an even better chance to win the lottery this year and an even better chance of securing a high draft pick.

The Wizards finished with the fourth-worst record in the NBA last season, giving them an 11.9 percent chance to win the No. 1 pick. They can pick no lower than seventh, though that would be extremely unlikely. Here is a complete breakdown of the chances to be in each of the first seven positions, via CSN Washington.

First Pick: 11.9 percent

Second Pick: 12.6 percent

Third Pick: 13.3 percent

Fourth Pick: 9.6 percent

Fifth Pick: 35 percent

Sixth Pick: 16.1 percent

Seventh Pick: 1.3 percent

The Wizards therefore have just under a 38 percent chance to get a top-three pick, which would likely put them in position to draft either Arizona's Derrick Williams or Kentucky recruit Enes Kanter.
