JaVale McGee Is 'Pierre,' And He's Taking That Seriously

A while back, Wizards center JaVale McGee declared on Twitter that he would only answer to the alter-ego "Pierre." Why Pierre? I don't know. But it was a pretty amusing little exchange that we all figured would eventually go away.

That was five days ago. Since then, though, McGee has kept up his end of the bargain. Sarah Schorno Kogod of NBC's Capital Games has been keeping track of McGee's "Pierre" references here, and they're all very amusing.

Some will howl that McGee should be spending more time on his game and less time coming up with silly nicknames for himself, but the two are not mutually exclusive and have nothing to do with each other. Long live "Pierre."
