2011 NBA Draft: Klay Thompson Impresses In Washington Wizards' Workout

Stay connected for news and updates

The Washington Wizards hosted six players in an NBA Draft workout on Wednesday, including likely first-round picks Tristan Thompson, Alec Burks and Klay Thompson. Three others -- Purdue's JaJuan Johnson, UTEP's Randy Culpepper and French guard Andrew Albicy -- joined them.

Of the six, Tristan Thompson, a big man from Texas, and Burks, a high-scoring guard from Colorado, are expected to be drafted highest. But as it turns out, it was Klay Thompson who was most impressive at the workout, at least according to a source of ESPN's Chad Ford.

From a source inside Wizards gym today: Klay Thompson & JaJuan Johnson looked good today. I've had Wiz taking Klay at 18 in 1st 3 Mocks.

Klay Thompson is a shooting guard from Washington State who has an excellent outside shot, but sometimes struggles defensively. He could be a nice option for the Wizards if Nick Young departs in free agency, and would likely be available with the No. 18 pick.
