NBA Draft 2011 Rumors: Minnesota Timberwolves 'Intrigued' About Trading No. 2 Pick For JaVale McGee

The Washington Wizards hold the No. 6 pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, and have reportedly entertained the possibility of moving up. There may potentially be an opportunity with the Minnesota Timberwolves, who hold the No. 2 pick in the draft and have been rumored to be amenable to trading the pick. Now, there is a potential trade possibility out there.

ESPN's Chad Ford, in a recent chat, reports that the Timberwolves are "intrigued" by the possibility of swapping the No. 2 pick for Wizards center JaVale McGee.

Do you think the TWolves will keep the 2nd pick or trade it?

Chad Ford  (1:13 PM)

I think they trade. But they won't give the pick away. I think they're another possible destination for Monta Ellis. I think they're also intrigued if they could swap No. 2 for JaVale McGee.

Later, Ford reports that there are some in the Wizards organization who believe they should blow up the entire team and rebuild only around John Wall. He adds that the Wizards could move up to No. 2 if they were willing to put McGee on the table.

McGee had an uneven year in 2011, but came on strong at the end and possesses incredibly unique skills for a seven-footer. The Wizards will have to weigh his potential and his position before they make a decision, because while McGee is still erratic, talented seven-footers don't grow on trees.
