DeShawn Stevenson Says LeBron James 'Checked Out' In Game 4 Of 2011 NBA Finals

Stay connected for news and updates

Nice try, DeShawn StevensonI know you said before the start of the 2011 NBA Finals that your beef with LeBron James, dating back to when you were with the Washington Wizards, was over. But I find it a bit hard to believe you when you say stuff like this after James' horrible Game 4 that has everyone talking.

"[He] checked out," Dallas Mavericks guard DeShawn Stevenson said. Later, he referred to James' detached passivity as "weird."

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for these verbal jabs. And you are technically correct that James certainly looked like he had "checked out" in Game 4, where he scored just eight points in an 86-83 Mavericks victory. I'm just guessing that you might not have used those specific words if you and James hadn't gone back and forth in that memorable 2008 first-round playoff series.

James, for his part, noted that Stevenson has been "talking for a long time, since our Washington‑Cleveland days," so clearly he hasn't forgotten.
