Saturday's "Capital Punishment" summer-league exhibition showdown between Washington D.C.'s Goodman League and Los Angeles' Drew League promised a lot of highlight plays, and early on, things certainly did not disappoint. The Drew League got off to a fast start, but that ended pretty quickly thanks to this play.

On this play, the two stars in the game hooked up for an awesome alley-oop highlight. John Wall of the Wizards pushed the ball up the court and lobbed it up to Kevin Durant. Despite a defender being in the way, Durant slammed it down and ignited the crowd at Trinity College.

Many, many highlights have followed, but none can match the energy that resulted from that opening play. Later, Durant returned the favor, lobbing a ball up to Wall for an alley-oop of his own. Wall didn't slam it nearly as emphatically as Durant, but at least things were all square now.
