Timberwolves Vs. Wizards Final Score: Washington Still Winless After Being Blown Out By Minnesota

The Washington Wizards extended their franchise record season opening losing streak to eight games on Sunday afternoon, falling to the Minnesota Timberwolves 93-72. Washington's cold shooting continued as they fell behind by 14 points after shooting less than 35% from the floor in the first half. It wasn't any better in the second, as the Wizards shot just 34.5% from the floor. Trevor Booker was the lone bright spot for the Wizards, as he saw increased playing time and finished with 14 points.

Jan Vesely saw his first action of the season, but managed only two points in eight minutes. Vesely had a nice dunk off a Booker assist but also badly missed two free throw attempts. John Wall struggled from the floor, scoring ten points on just three of ten from the floor. The one highlight of the game for Wizards' fans came on an emphatic left handed dunk by Wall.

The young stars of the Timberwolves had their way on the offensive end, with Kevin Love and rookies Derrick Williams and Ricky Rubio turning in impressive afternoons. Rubio really led the two Wolves' first half runs which made this a comfortable win for Minny. He had 14 assists along with 13 points and six rebounds. WIlliams hit four triples and finished with 14 points. And Love had the highly productive game we've come to expect, grabbing eight rebounds in the first quarter before finishing with total of 16 boards. He also led all scorers with 20 points.

The Wizards will once again try for their first win on Tuesday night, when they host the Toronto Raptors.
