The Washington Wizards trail the Cleveland Cavaliers, 50-39, in the opening game of the NBA season. Kyrie Irving has led the way for the Cavs, scoring 14 and dishing out a pair of assists. Anderson Varejao added 9 rebounds, 6 points, and 2 blocks.

The Wizards have struggled from the field, shooting just 32.6% and were outrebounded 26-19 in the first half. Washington also only went 6-for-12 from the foul line.

Washington kept things close early, but Cleveland closed out the first quarter on a 7-0 run and never looked back in the second quarter as the Wizards continued to struggle.

Trevor Booker, who was one of the Wizards' best players in the preseason, had a rough first half, going 1-for-7 with 4 turnovers and 3 fouls. Bradley Beal has been a lone bright spot, scoring 8 points and going 2-for-2 from beyond the arc, but is just 2-for-6 overall. Jan Vesely added 5 points (including an alley-oop) and 3 rebounds.
